Our Care Team

Our Care Team is comprised of talented, skilled professionals with a variety of backgrounds and unique work experiences. They work seamlessly with nurses from hospice care agencies to deliver the resident’s Plan of Care and maintain a life filled with meaning, comfort, and dignity.

Their skills go beyond the ordinary as they provide comfort, compassion, and even humor to the residents, their families, and friends during their pivotal last days when every moment is treasured.

"The comfort, love and support you gave all of us was truly exceptional and deeply appreciated. You are angels in on this earth and you helped make our beloved father’s last days comfortable and peaceful. We will be forever grateful to you."

Doreen Burgos

Nursing Supervisor

The team is led by Doreen Burgos, RN, who has over 30 years experience in hospice care. She leads a dedicated team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants, each with extensive experience in their fields.

Ludy C.

Licensed Practical Nurse

As an experienced hospice nurse, I think it’s a good place to be. I like that the house can accommodate up to six residents, which allows us to give more individualized care than if we were larger. I like getting to know the residents through one-on-one interactions.

Marlene N.

Licensed Practical Nurse

I was drawn to work here because I wanted to be able to care for people in their final stage of life, in a beautiful place. My favorite thing about being here is our residents. One of the most rewarding things for me has been learning about end-of-life and being there for each individual.

Carole M.

Certified Nursing Assistant

I was drawn to work here because I liked that it was a newer concept for Connecticut and a new adventure for me. What I like most about being at Fairfield County House is the people and staff, and being able to rally care for the residents individually. The most rewarding thing for me has been the compassion for others on a whole new level.

Marie J.

Certified Nursing Assistant

I like to work with the elderly, especially those that need end-of-life care. I felt very welcome here. I enjoy taking care of the residents and finding little ways to make them happy. We have a great team that gets along well.

Board of Directors

Our volunteer Board of Directors represents communities across the county and experience ranging from hospice and post-acute care, clinical expertise, business, zoning/construction, legal, finance, fund-raising, marketing, volunteer, and governance.

"You all came into our lives when we needed you the most. Each of you was a tiny miracle, helping us through our very worst days!

…actually not a tiny miracle but a huge, much needed gift."
